The Original Story...
Ona and Ira met in Alaska working for a hunting outfitter. They spent a years working in Pennsylvania before moving their studio to Montana. Their collaboration of glass and metal have allowed them to create individual works of art and large scale sculptures and functional lighting and furniture for both indoor and outdoor settings.
-
Ira Cuelho
Ira’s work speaks strength and force but with a sinuous delicacy. Nature trumps industry in his versatile forged iron sculpture. This cowboy artist’s work reflects the powerful beauty of his Montana home and provides counterpoint to Ona’s cosmopolitan glass sculpture.
-
Ona Magaro
Ona enlivens her craft with a fierce talent. Her adventures with color are striking - from the tropical richness of the Africa series through earth-toned vases to the liquid mystery of her Awakened sculptures. Each finished piece reflects individuality and yet enhances characteristics in others.
Working Together
Of all the time they have spent together, they have found the peak of their creative expression by collaborating on free-standing works of art and custom installations.
To bring custom blown and cast glass alongside hand-forged metal is a feat in it’s own right. But the two of them work diligently to present some of the most creative sculpture seen.
“It’s truly an ideal situation; a life-long relationship and the growth of our creative outlets all alongside our children.”
